I had my first assignment for The Gold Hope Project this past weekend. The Gold Hope Project offers free photo sessions for any pediatric patient at any stage of treatment, remission or survivorship. They also educate our communities about pediatric cancer and raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
I had the privilege of meeting Everett. He's a rambunctious, happy, adventurous little guy, not to mention, a ham for the camera. Everett is also a pediatric cancer patient with a rare form of eye cancer called retinoblastoma. He was born with this disease which resulted in his first chemo treatments starting at 2 weeks old. His most recent chemo treatment was last November and his family will have to keep up with treatments until he is about 5 years old, as the tumors come and go. However, nothing is stopping this little fighter from running, playing and having a happy and fulfilling life. Everett's family doesn't have a go fund me but frequent trips to the children's hospital have plenty of fees associated with them, so I asked Everett's mama for her Venmo handle in case you feel so inclined to send some coffee money, gas, parking, etc. Her Venmo is @Kgul224
